A New Marilyn Manson Album Is Coming

Prepare your eardrums because Marilyn Manson‘s next album is on the way.

The goth king has taken to Instagram to update fans on the status of his 11th studio LP, writing: “On my way to [US singer-songwriter Shooter Jennings’ place] to finish my new album,” alongside a snap of him looking derpy and wearing a cartoon beanie.

His last record was of course 2017’s Heaven Upside Down, which he never got around bringing to Australia on tour, despite saying he wanted to.

As for his last tour down under, that happened back in 2015 when he performed live at Soundwave. Since then, Manson has revealed that he’s not too keen on playing another festival when he returns, telling triple J in a 2017 interview that he’s “never really gotten the outdoor concert thing”.

Since his last trip to Oz, Manson has also split with longtime bassist Twiggy Ramirez, after his bandmate was hit with rape allegations.

Meanwhile, Shooter Jennings’ involvement in the new Manson album is noteworthy, since the pair previously collaborated on a cover of David Bowie’s ‘Cat People’ back in 2016 (listen below).

Let’s hope a new album on the way means Manson’s next Australian tour won’t be far off…
