A Stack Of Aussie Artists Have Made It Onto The ‘THPS 1+2’ Soundtrack

Back in May, the internet chucked a veritable Kickflip McTwist when it was revealed that iconic games Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 would be receiving a remastered re-release for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC this September. While part of the appeal was that much of the games’ original soundtracks – including Millencolin, Goldfinger, Rage Against the Machine, Dead Kennedys and more – would be returning, developers also announced there’d be a slew of new music from contemporary artists.

Well, now we know who’s been added to the soundtrack – and a few Aussies have managed to get in on the mix. Alex Lahey‘s track ‘Misery Guts’, Baker Boy‘s ‘In Control’, DZ Deathrays cut ‘IN-TO-IT’ and ‘Connect to Consume’ by A. Swayze & The Ghosts will all appear on the updated soundtrack. Bloody huge.

Elsewhere on the soundtrack are the likes of A Tribe Called QuestFIDLAR, Skepta, Pkew Pkew Pkew, Screaming Females, Viagra Boys and American Nightmare, all making for a pretty ideal accompaniment to your nosegrinds, pop shove-its and whatnot.

Due out September 4, THPS 1 + 2 will feature the same stages and basic gameplay as the originals, also offering some new tricks and “more robust character and skatepark creation tools”. The original game modes will be available as well as online multiplayer.

The first Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game was originally released back in 1999, with THPS2 following a year later in 2000. The franchise has spawned several games since, including Tony Hawk’s Underground and its sequel.

Check out the soundtrack below, which has also handily been collated into this Spotify playlist.
