A Tribe Called Quest have taken to the Grammys stage with perhaps the most politically-charged performance of the night.
The hip hop group performed ‘Award Tour’, ‘Movin’ Backwards’ and ‘We the People’, paying tribute to the late great Phife Dawg, who passed away last year.
They were joined by Anderson .Paak, who was perched up back on the drum kit, knocking it out of the park. Consequence and Busta Rhymes also joined them on stage.
“I want to thank President Agent Orange for perpetuating all of the evil,” they said before performing ‘We The People’, giving Donald Trump an apt new nickname.
Q-Tip also ended the performance by chanting, “Resist! Resist! Resist! Resist!”
A Tribe Called Quest were not nominated for a Grammy this year, because their latest record We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service was released after the nomination deadline.
