A US Police Department Has Apologised After ‘Arresting’ Marilyn Manson

The Bangor Police Department in Maine, USA has taken to Facebook to ‘apologise’ for arresting Marilyn Manson earlier this week.

Yesterday, Manson took to Instagram to post a video of him smoking…something, with the caption “I don’t like the drugs…”. Pretty standard, to be honest.

However, he directly followed that up with a video of him being arrested, or at least appearing to be, and captioned that with “But the cops like me…”

This all went down backstage at Maine’s Impact Music Festival, and after fans apparently inundated the police department with requests for information, they took to Facebook to, in a round-a-bout way, admit that it was all a joke.

“In the interest of saving us a whole lot of call-backs, Marilyn Manson was merely handcuffed and released immediately thereafter,” the post read.

“Officer Curtis Grenier, typically listening to only Enya, and a little bit of Oasis, was posted backstage during the Impact Music Festival. He did not recognise Mr. Manson without his stage makeup – our apologies.

“Later, when approaching Rob Zombie, Officer Grenier was overheard saying, ‘I have never seen him in The Walking Dead, so I don’t know what the big deal is.’

“Grenier has been spoken to and relieved of backstage concert-related duties for the foreseeable future. The Chief has determined that Grenier can work backstage during Lord Of The Dance or anything related to Disney.

“Keep your hands to yourself, leave other people’s things alone, and be kind to one another. We will be here. With the Beautiful People.”

Honestly, just another day in the life of Marilyn Manson and another day in the absolute circus that is 2018. Watch both Manson’s clips and read the Bangor Police Department’s admittedly funny statement below.
