For some time now there’s been speculations that renowned Aussie band AC/DC have been working on a new record. Now, according to the band’s sound engineer, they have been back in the studio.
The rumours started after vocalist Brian Johnson was photographed with drummer Phil Rudd and Stevie and Angus Young outside of Vancouver’s Warehouse Studios.
Goss was fuelled just a few months ago when Blabbermouth reported that the band Terrorizer had taken to Facebook and said, “We ran into Brian Johnson from AC/DC at the airport today after the flight home and we asked him about the rumors of him being on the new AC/DC album and he said ‘yes’ and that he is ‘sick of denying it.’ So that was a cool surprise ending to the tour.”
Guitarist Malcolm Young passed away back in 2017, but he reportedly worked on “hundreds” of songs with Angus Young. Sources say some of his riffs will also feature on the reported new album.
Now on Tony Mantz’ Mastering Music Mastering Life podcast, AC/DC sound engineer, Mike Fraser let more slip.
“Well, yeah, I could say that we’ve been in the studio doing something,” Fraser said.
“What’s come of that I can’t discuss yet.”
AC/DC’s upcoming release, whatever is it and whenever it comes, will follow up their 2014 album Rock or Bust.
