AC/DC Australian Tour Plans Revealed?

Australian rock icons AC/DC have reportedly revealed their Australian tour plans via their label, Sony Music. Fans at the global launch of the band’s new album Rock Or Bust were allegedly told that the group will tour their home country in late 2015 or early 2016.

Hot Metal Online have reported that a representative from Sony Music made the tour announcement at the Rock Or Bust event. According to the publication, the representative also encouraged fans to pre-order the album for a chance to win tickets to the still officially unannounced tour.

“You will win tickets and flights to your nearest capital city to see AC/DC when they tour Australia, which will be either late next year or in March 2016,” the representative is said to have told the large group who made the trip to a small NSW town called The Rock just to hear Rock Or Bust‘s 11 tracks.

No touring dates have been officially announced by AC/DC, although any new shows could very well be their last. The band are now without rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, who is suffering from dementia, while AC/DC biographer Jesse Fink believes the band’s next tour will be the end.

John Paterson, local Councillor for The Rock, said (Via Fairfax Media), “There were at least a couple of thousand (fans), it was very well supported… Rock Or Bust obviously went over very well because of the association with the name of our town… I can assure you that the song will be a new anthem for our little town here at The Rock.”

Fairfax have noted that AC/DC plan to couple the release of Rock Or Bust with a world tour in 2015, despite their performing lineup remaining unclear since drummer Phil Rudd was charged with attempting to procure a murder and later having some of the charges dropped.

AC/DC’s Rock Or Bust music video is due to be released very soon, with the band posting stills (below) from the video on their Facebook page, adding the caption, “Tonight at midnight EST. #RockOrBust.” That’s 4pm AEDT, Monday, 24th November.

AC/DC have shared behind the scenes footage from the video’s London filming (below) via YouTube, which sees the group performing on a small circular stage, surrounded by adoring fans and without Rudd on drums. Let’s hope the final product redeems the band for that horrible green-screen in their Play Ball video.

Rock Or Bust is set to be released on Friday, 28th November.
