AC/DC‘s Brian Johnson joined Billy Joel onstage on Friday during his Madison Square Garden residency for a surprise performance of the classic You Shook Me All Night Long, marking Johnson’s first live appearance since AC/DC’s Black Ice tour in 2010.
According to Consequnce of Sound Joel has long covered AC/DC’s Highway to Hell in concert and has previously performed the song live with Johnson. However, Friday marked the first time in 12 years that the two 70s rock legends shared the stage.
Legendary piano man, Billy Joel, is in the midst of an unprecedented residency at Madison Square Gardens, where he is performing a concert every month as long as there is demand. The last concert also included the live debut of 1982′s Surprises and a cover of The Beatles’ A Hard Days Night.
AC/DC have recently announced plans to record a new album to coincide with the band’s 40th anniversary in 2014 which could possibly be supported by with another world tour. Stay tuned for more details.
