While each passing day brings us closer to the highly anticipated Splendour In The Grass 2018 lineup, it also gives international festivals the chance to steal acts away from Australia.
A long list of bands and solo artists have already been ruled out of Splendour due to commitments with events like Lollapalooza Paris and Benicàssim Festival, and now Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party — which takes place on the same dates as Splendour — has revealed its 2018 lineup.
In doing so, Capitol Hill has dashed Australia’s hopes of seeing the likes of dance king Dillon Francis, rapper GoldLink, boy band BROCKHAMPTON, indie duo Oh Wonder, singer-songwriter Father John Misty or producer Cashmere Cat at this year’s Byron Bay bash.
While there’s a very slim chance some of the acts on the Capitol Hill lineup could be able to squeeze in a flight to Australia in time for Splendour, it’s very unlikely. Peep the full Capitol Hill Block Party lineup below, alongside 24 other acts we can already rule out of Splendour 2018.
ICYMI: On the upside, Japan’s Fuji Rock festival has given us a few juicy clues as to who we might actually see perform at Splendour this year. The Wombats have also confirmed they are “definitely” playing, while the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys and Superorganism are also rumoured.
Splendour In The Grass will return to North Byron Parklands between 20th and 22nd July.
