Hobart’s Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) has announced an all-Aussie New Year’s Day concert featuring the likes of alt-rockers You Am I, Adalita and singer-songwriter Abbe May.
MONA’s New Year’s Day gig-slash-hangover-cure will also feature Egyptian-born Joseph Tawadros, an oud virtuoso (the oud is a cousin of the lute) who has collaborated with the likes of Neil Finn, Lior and Katie Noonan.
Bringing in 2016 on MONA’s main stage, the New Year’s Day concert will see Tim Rogers and his You Am I bandmates packing tunes from their recently released new album, Porridge & Hotsauce.
Following its New Year’s Day shindig, MONA will host acts like The Flaming Lips, DJ Krush and Evelyn Glennie as part of its 2016 FOMA (Festival of Music and Art) later in January.
The museum’s New Year’s Day concert will open at 3pm on the first day of 2016. Catch the lineup alongside ticket details, below.
