A weekend that would go on to be filled with unbelievable amounts of tragedy started when Orlando Police reported the fatal shooting of former The Voice US contestant Christina Grimmie.
22-year-old Grimmie was shot by 27-year old man Kevin James Loibl on Friday night while meeting her fans at a concert. She died on Saturday due to her injuries. Loibl fatally shot himself after shooting Ms Grimmie.
Now, in a move of pure altruism The Voice coach and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has offered to cover the Gimmie family’s funeral expenses. Christina Grimmie’s brother Marcus revealed the offer on Facebook, saying that Levine “personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight”, a gesture that left him “blown away”.
After hearing the news of Grimmie’s tragic death, Levine tweeted a heartfelt message alongside a selfie of the two. “Behati and I are absolutely decastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie’s death. Our hearts go out to her family”.

Markus Grimmie’s Facebook post also shared the GoFundMe campaign that Grimmie’s manager Brian Teefey had already started up to help the family cover moving and funeral costs, and has reached over $100,000 US. “Words cannot express… literally I have no words,” said Marcus.
