Hip-hop, roots fusion artist, Adrian Eagle has delivered a smooth rendition of Ocean Alley‘s ‘Confidence’ for this week’s triple j Like a Version segment.
It was a risky track to cover with it taking out the #1 spot in last year’s Hottest 100 and feelings still running high among devoted listeners — but Adrian Eagle has pulled it off.
Bringing along his own band and backup singers, Eagle slows down the track and grooves it up a bit.
Throwing his own spin on the lyrics throughout, he ties off the cover singing, “This one goes out to the kids of the nation and all the demons you’re facing may you be your own inspiration.
“Have confidence to go out into the world and be exactly who you are, sending you much love and positive vibrations.”
Adrian Eagle also performed his own track ‘A.O.K’.
Adrian wrapped up his national tour earlier this month and last month participated in Music Feeds’ ‘Love Letter To A Record’ series.
