Dethklok

Adult Swim Are Bringing Back ‘Metalocalypse’ for a Feature-Length Film

Dethklok will make their return to screens in the form of a feature-length Metalocalypse film greenlit by Adult Swim.

The movie will mark the first adventures of the fictional metal outfit fans since the series was cancelled back in 2013. The new content will be helmed by show creators Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha.

In a press release, Adult Swim say the forthcoming film will see the band – Nathan Explosion, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, Pickles, William Murderface, and Toki Wartooth – face off once again against the villainous Illuminati-esque Tribunal, picking up where the series left off.

“The power-hungry TRIBUNAL unveils their secret and deadly ‘FalconBack Project’ as the world grows in embattled chaos and the menacing Doomstar breaches the Earth’s atmosphere, while the mysterious and twisted dissent of a band member threatens the future of Dethklok,” reads a synopsis.

“Picking up directly after the heroic rescue of Toki Wartooth- can Dethklok choose between their egos and the greater good of the world to embark on a gauntlet of dangers that will try their very souls and finally write the song that will be their salvation?”

In addition to the Metalocalypse film, Adult Swim have also greenlit new Aqua Teen Hunger Force and The Venture Bros originals. All three will be released on Blu-ray/DVD and on video on demand services, followed by premieres on HBO Max and Adult Swim.
