Aerosmith will be playing dates along Australia’s East Coast in late April and early May – if the editor of Melodicrock.com is spot on.
Andrew McNiece tweeted some dates earlier this week, saying: “@Aerosmith hitting Australia! SYD 28/4 BRIS 1/5 MELB 4/5 #oldfartsstillrocking”. The venues are unknown; however, you would think arenas or possibly outdoor venues will be booked for the band, depending on whether or not sport matches have been scheduled on those dates.
It follows on from reports that promoter Andrew McManus is expected to announce an Aerosmith Australian tour on Monday, after fan Megan Williams posted details on the Facebook page Bring Aerosmith To Australia In 2013.
And, co-incidentally enough, Aerosmith are scheduled to appear on Channel Nine’s 60 Minutes tomorrow night. Talk about timing.
Aerosmith’s forthcoming Australian tour has been rumoured since October, when guitarist Joe Perry tweeted that the band have plans for a World Tour in 2013 to plug their new record Music from Another Dimension! Perry said that the tour would start in “early summer ’13” – aka our winter – and would include “Australia, South America, Far East”.
The band reportedly haven’t visited our shores for more than two decades – Noise11 reports that the group’s last visit was in October 1990.
