Perth’s all-ages summer slam HyperFest is returning in 2018, and it’s just dropped a first lineup announcement that’ll make you more ~hyper~ than a jug full of red cordial.
On the heavy end of the spectrum there’s In Hearts Wake, Columbus, Introvert, Cursed Earth and Glass Wave; for the grunge-punks out there you’ve got the likes of WAAX, Tired Lion, Dear Seattle and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets; plus there’s the jazz-powered hip-hop stylings of POW Negro, triple j‘s 2017 Unearthed High-winning rapper Arno Faraji, indie-pop songstress Maddi Jane, Adelaide trio Heaps Good Friends and loads more to satisfy all manner of musical cravings.
The drug, smoke and alcohol-free event will once go down at Midland Oval on Saturday, 24th February 2018, with “three talent-packed main stages and loads of entertainment”.
“Local DJs will also be on the decks all day in the silent disco, with DJ applications open now,” says City of Swan Mayor David Lucas.
HyperFest 2018 will also feature a sideshow alley market, live art battles, gourmet food vans, water slides, photo booth, games, merch and a signing tent featuring all your fave artists.
The second lineup announcement is due in early January, but for now, you can catch the first one in all its glory, below.
