Alison Wonderland has unleashed new song ‘Happy Place’ ahead of her forthcoming second album.
Wonderland premiered the song on triple j and spoke about it saying, “I wrote it about me trying to find my ‘Happy Place’.”
“This was when I was in a super dark state of mind; you’re so in your own head there’s some pretty terrible choices you could make and I decided to make the choice to reach out to my friends… They ended up bringing me out of that and saving me.”
The song was produced by Wonderland herself alongside Lido and QUIX. Both Lido and QUIX will tour as part of her Wonderland Scarehouse Project which will also feature huge acts like A$AP Ferg and Lunice.
She also announced that her forthcoming album would be called Awake and while she’s still holding the release date close to her chest she did talk a little about working with producer Joel Little.
Little is the producer behind Lorde’s ‘Royals’ and has worked on “quite a lot of the songs” on the new Wonderland record.
“It’s the first time I’d really gone in and written songs with other people,” she said.
“I thought ‘hey, I want to have a little evolution, I want to learn some stuff with this album, open myself up.’”
Wonderland’s Scarehouse Project is due to start at the end of this month in Brisbane. The exact locations are still being kept a secret just to make things even spookier.
