Brooklyn-based pop-rockers American Authors are set to return to Australia to play shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this August, before playing their very first show in New Zealand.
American Authors last visited Australia in support of their debut album Oh, What A Life, performing a string of exclusive events including an intimate gig at Sydney’s Luna Park for only 300 fans.
Vocalist Zac Barnett has spoken of the meaning behind the group’s name and the ideals behind their ethos, saying, “We’re the authors of our lives, creating music from what we’ve lived, from what we hope for, from what we feel.
“Every day is different and like everyone, our emotions change according to our personal highs and lows and by the challenges or triumphs that affect all of us… We’re not afraid to be goofy one day and serious the next. We just want to be true to ourselves and share our stories for as long as people are willing to listen.”
American Authors’ 2014 Australian & New Zealand tour begins in Brisbane on Friday, 19th September. The tour will then head to Melbourne and Sydney before wrapping up in Auckland on Wednesday, 24th September. Full tour details below.
