Amyl and the Sniffers, Baker Boy Lead 2022 ARIA Awards Nominees

The full list of nominees for the 2022 ARIA Awards has been revealed. It’s a big year for Amyl and the Sniffers, who’re up for Album of the Year, Best Group, Best Rock Album, Best Video, Best Australian Live Act and Best Produced Album. Baker Boy is another artist who’s in the running for a stack of awards, nabbing nominations for Album of the Year, Best Solo Artist, Best Hip Hop/Rap Release, Best Video, Best Australian Live Act, Best Cover Art, Best Mixed Album and Best Produced Album.

Along with Baker Boy’s Gela and Amyl’s Comfort to Me, the coveted Album of the Year category includes Gang of Youths‘ Angel In Realtime., King Stingray’s self-titled debut and RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Surrender. Both Mildlife and Springtime are nominated for Best Jazz Album, while In Hearts Wake are up for Best Original Soundtrack for the album accompaniment to their documentary Green is the New Black.

Amyl and the Sniffers – ‘Hertz’

Julia Jacklin picked up nominations for Best Solo Artist, Best Independent Release, Best Adult Contemporary Album and Best Video. The nominees for Song of the Year include Flume’s ‘Say Nothing’ featuring MAY-A, Joji’s ‘Glimpse of Us’ and RÜFÜS DU SOL’s ‘On My Knees’. RÜFÜS are up for a total of seven awards.
