Well this is unexpected.
A collab between Blink-182 and Miley Cyrus, which we never knew existed, has just surfaced online.
The track in question is actually a familiar one; ‘I Really Wish I Hated You’ off Blink’s 2019 album NINE. However, this unreleased version features Hannah Montana herself on guesties.
We only found out about the doomed collab when a version of the tune feat. Cyrus surfaced online, prompting many fans to presume it was a big fat phony.
However, main man Mark Hoppus himself has sinced confirmed its legitimacy in a recent Twitch stream.
In response to a fan Q about the mysterious collab, Hoppus stammers “Huh. Did it leak?” channeling a bit of a bit of a deer-in-the-headlights vibe.
“I will be right back and we’ll talk about this,” he continues. “I don’t know what the story is with… well I know exactly what the story is with the Miley Cyrus’s version of ‘I Really Wish I Hated You’. But I did not realise that it was in the world. So I am trying to find out answers.”
Later on in the stream he was asked about it again, and confirmed the track’s existence.
“She sang on a version of ‘I Really Wish I Hated You’ and apparently it leaked,” Hoppus said.
Sadly the full track has not been released yet & it’s currently unclear if it ever will be… but you can listen to the leaked snippet — along with the original — below!
