Well, here we go: some evil genius has seamlessly mashed up Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘WAP’ with Queen‘s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and it is beautiful anarchy.
While most mashups of ‘WAP’ with other tracks have just been a matter of putting the song’s vocals as they are over the melody of another song, YouTuber William Maranci has unleashed a full, five-and-a-half minute masterpiece that transforms the song entirely.
The typically rapid fire verses from Cardi and Megan are slowed down and chopped to fit the cadence of Freddie Mercury, making the lyrics almost tear-jerking. The “let me go!” chants are swapped for “macaroni!” and there’s some stunning harmonies of “there’s some whores in this house” that lace the song throughout.
Of course, this is just the latest mashup the song has received. In the month since its release, people on the internet have mashed it up with tracks by Nickelback, Gang Of Youths and even Hannah Montana.
S0me truly brave acts have even tried their hands at covering the un-coverable song (‘WAP’, not ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’). Biffy Clyro offered their version of the track, which caused much derision on the Internet.
