Italian-British guitar-wielding chanteuse, Anna Calvi will be making her return to Australia as a part of this year’s Vivid LIVE festival and as an extra treat for Melbourne fans, the enigmatic artist will also play an extra headlining show at the Thornbury Theatre this May.
Praised by Brian Eno as “the biggest thing since Patti Smith”, the guitar virtuoso Anna Calvi will intoxicate audiences with her pop-noir aesthetic, featuring songs from both her Mercury Prize-nominated debut and last year’s critically acclaimed LP, One Breath.
Of the album, Calvi herself said, “One Breath is the moment before you’ve got to open yourself up, and it’s about how terrifying that is. It’s scary and it’s thrilling. It’s also full of hope, because whatever has to happen hasn’t happened yet.”
Tickets for all shows go on sale from 9am, Monday, 31st March.
