Annandale Hotel Closing Its Doors Until Mid-September, Gigs Relocated

The owners of Sydney’s embattled Annandale Hotel have announced today that as of next Monday, 2nd September the venue will be closed for business for due to circumstances outside of their control. Doors will once again be open from Monday, 16th September but in the meantime, several scheduled performances have had to relocate.

A statement from The ‘Dale has explained that this doesn’t have anything to do with the recent drama surrounding the venue, but rather developments being carried out on the property next door. The venue has been left with no option but to tap out until the work is complete.

In terms of the shows, The Delta Lions who were meant to be performing tonight will now be taking to The Bald Faced Stag, The Beards and International Beard Day happening next week will now be at Manning Bar.

The Smith Street Band have told The Music that they are unaware of any changes to their shows set to be happening over the weekend, and some staff have confirmed they’re rostered on to work in the coming days. So more updates are sure to come through.

Oscars Hotels’ Group General Manager Damien Cameron, the venue’s soon-to-be owners have commented that, at this point in time, they have nothing to do with the venue or its decisions until they get the keys in mid-December where they will continue with the legacy of live music.

You can check out the statement from the venue below and be vigilant should you have any plans at the venue for the coming weeks.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Annandale Hotel will be temporarily closed from Monday September 2. Unscheduled building works associated with the development next to the hotel have left the venue with no choice but to close until September 16, when the new operators will take control of operations.”
