Annandale Hotel Robbed And Ransacked Overnight, Shows Cancelled

Things have gone from bad to worse for Sydney’s Annandale Hotel, with the iconic live music venue broken into overnight. It’s been confirmed by Police media that a group then ransacked the entire pub, getting away with alcohol and cash some time after midnight.

As a result, the venue has announced that tomorrow night’s Monks Of Mellonwah show will no longer be going ahead, with the band confirming on their event page that “last night, the venue was broken into and trashed by some douche bags”. According to Lisa-Maree Bray from Superstylin’ Entertainment, the gig’s promoter, “the entire place was thrashed”.

At this point its unknown just how much loot was taken, though more details are sure to come through from management.

This is a low blow that The ‘Dale really didn’t need after months of ups and downs regarding the future of the property. At last count, live music would be continuing after it was sold off, though all bookings will now be done through a new company.

The last time people thought they could get away with robbing the Annandale, it didn’t turn out too good for them, so here’s hoping these guys were just as stupid.

More details as they happen.
