Canadian metal veterans Anvil have announced a 2014 World Tour that includes a string of dates in Australia this coming November. The band took to Facebook to announce the tour earlier today. The band will play five shows while in the country, stopping in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Newcastle.
Dates for the shows have been announced with venues and ticket information still to be confirmed. The thrash metal outfit announced a run of New Zealand dates as well a few days ago and are promising global fans even more stops to be announced over the next few days.
Since being saved from obscurity with the release of their 2008 documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil, the band have enjoyed tours around the world and released two albums, 2011’s Juggernaut of Justice and 2013’s Hope in Hell.
They last visited Australia in 2010, playing on that year’s Soundwave festival lineup alongside Faith No More, My Chemical Romance and Jane’s Addiction. In 2013, they asked fans to petition promoter AJ Maddah demanding he book them for Soundwave 2014.
While they were unsuccessful in their pursuits, it looks like Anvil will make their way to Australia in 2014 anyway, on their own accord. Stay tunes to Music Feeds as more information about the tour comes to hand.
