Touring has gotta be a gross business, sometimes. But when necessity gives way to practical jokes involving bodily fluids… I mean, you gotta draw the line somewhere?
Travis Barker of Blink-182 told KROQ in a recent interview that The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith once urinated into Taylor Hawkins’ on-stage fan while the Foo Fighters performed in Australia at the 2000 Big Day Out.
“It’s the worst practical joke ever,” Barker said. “It was so funny, but so wrong.” Sounds accurate.
The 2000 Big Day Out lineup also featured Nine Inch Nails, The Chemical Brothers, Primal Scream, Killing Heidi, Magic Dirt and Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros who stepped up to fill in for Frenzal Rhomb. Add this gross-out to the slew of disgusting things bandmates have done to each other on tour, including the singular Mike Patton defecating into man-of-the-hour Axl Rose‘s orange juice. It seems that Axl has even more critics than we thought…
