Arcade Fire‘s management have confirmed that the band are working with former LCD Soundsystem star James Murphy on their forthcoming album.
Band manager Scott Rodger spoke to Music Week recently and shed light on the new record, which sounds like it is developing into quite a beast, so much so that, according to Rodger, the band are writing “too many songs” for the release.
“They’re in with James Murphy on three or so songs, plus Markus Dravs, who is a long-time collaborator,” he said.
“They write too many songs – that’s a good problem to have. There’s around 35 songs with Arcade Fire, two albums’ worth for sure.”
Could there be a double album on the way, or two releases in quick succession? Either way, 2013 should be an exciting year for Arcade Fire fans.
There’s no talk of release dates yet, however, Pitchfork reckon the album is likely to surface late next year.
