The Rockdogs will go up against the Megahertz at this year’s Reclink Community Cup, which takes place at Melbourne’s Victoria Park on Sunday, 19th June.
The event theme is ‘Let Love Rule,’ named in honour of Gunditjmara/Bundjalung singer-songwriter Archie Roach. ‘Let Love Rule’ is the title of one of Roach’s most resonant compositions, which appears on his 2016 album of the same name.
“‘Let Love Rule’ is a song about love being the main sentiment in your life, the driving force that inspires you each day to do what you do,” said Roach in a statement.
Roach added, “Community is also a tangible expression of love and connection. What better way to express love than to come together, playing a game of footy and listening to some great Australian music?”
The lineup of performers for the 26th Reclink Community Cup has also been announced. Cash Savage and The Last Drinks lead the pack, along with punk rock act Private Function, paisley pop act Parnsip, neo-soul outfit Izy and groove-centric nine-piece ensemble Ausecuma Beats.
Tickets are on sale now through Oztix. It’s $25+ BF for adults; $5+BF for 3–16 year olds; and free for under 3s. Find the complete lineup below
