Arctic Monkeys Have Announced Three Australian Headline Shows For This Summer

After last month’s announcement that they’ll headline this year’s comeback edition of Falls Festival (alongside the likes of Lil Nas X, Peggy Gou, Chvrches, Jamie xx and plenty more), Arctic Monkeys have announced a trio of their own outdoor shows taking place in January 2023.

After ringing in the new year, the British rockers, who were last here in 2019 for a string of arena shows, will play Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Wednesday, 4th January. A week later on Wednesday, 11th January they’ll perform at Riverstage in Brisbane, before wrapping up at The Domain in Sydney on Saturday, 14th January.

In Melbourne and Brisbane, they’ll be joined by psych jazz-fusion quartet Mildlife, while Sydney gets both DMA’S along with The Buoys. Tickets for these shows are on sale next Friday, 17th June at 12pm local time. There’s a fan pre-sale kicking off Wednesday, 15th June you can register for here, while Frontier Members have access to a pre-sale the following day.

If word on the street’s to be believed, Arctic Monkeys have new music well on the way. It was reported back in August that the band had recorded a new album – the follow-up to 2018’s acclaimed Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino – meaning they could likely have a slew of new tunes to showcase once they’re on our shores.

If you can’t catch the band at either Falls or one of their own shows – fear not. They’ve also been announced on the lineups for this year’s Lost Paradise along with the inaugural Heaps Good Festival in Adelaide.
