Arctic Monkeys, gearing up to the release their highly anticipated sixth studio album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, have announced an exclusive Australian pop-up store to celebrate the occasion.
Taking place at the Golden Age Cinema & Bar in Sydney on Friday, 11th May – same day as the album’s released – and Saturday, 12th May, the pop-up store will feature exclusive, limited merchandise.
Interestingly, the band have also programmed films that will air at the cinema over the Friday and Saturday. They have given five of their favourite 70’s era films to screen on that day as well as Saturday, including The Conversation, The Last Waltz and Inherent Vice.
The band have just started a run of shows, and have already debuted some of their new songs live. While they aren’t releasing any songs before Friday, the reviews are coming in and the general consensus is that the album will be divisive.
The store opens both days at 11am and will run until 8:30. You can find more information here.
Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is out Friday, 11th May.
