Once again, we find ‘Ariana Grande‘ and ‘copying’ in the same sentence. The pop juggernaut and her team recently filed a lawsuit against Forever 21 for using a “look-alike” in their latest campaign, but now drag queen Farrah Moan is accusing Grande of stealing the look from her.
Taking to Twitter, Moan wrote that Grande should cut her some of the $10 million USD she’s suing Forever 21 for as the bejewelled look from the ‘7 Rings’ music video, which at the time of writing has over 550 million views on YouTube, since it was reportedly a direct copy of a look Moan wore during her time on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
“Ariana should give me a cut of that 10M since her team literally sent a pic of me to the designer and paid them to copy my look from as4,” Moan wrote on Twitter, posting a side by side of the two outfits.
“(Finally met the designer and got told the Tea) I guess stealing from queer artists for profit is fine tho.”
She then posted a pretty biting GIF which you can see below.

“The main ppl at fault here are her team,” she continued. “If that queen didn’t recreate it, they woulda found someone who would. When ur team makes a mistake, it falls on u. Idc what the lawsuit is really about, her legal team is accusing theft of likeness, image, w/e – but the point is her team also stole.”
She later said that she doesn’t care “about suing anyone, just needed to put this out there.”
But the point is her team also stole. U can attack me all day but it’s not gonna change anything. I can admit I was petty with that gif I posted& I’ll apologize for that but at the end of the day they did what they did. Idc about suing anyone, just needed to put this out there

Grande’s ‘7 Rings’ has been embroiled in controversy about theft and copying of ideas since its release. Rappers Princess Nokia and Soulja Boy both accused Grande of ripping off certain elements of their songs ‘Mine’ and ‘Pretty Boy Swag’ respectively.
For everything it’s worth, watch the video for ‘7 Rings’ below.
