The lineup for a new environmental awareness event, Rock For The Reef, has been announced and is led by the likes of blues and roots musician Ash Grunwald, indie five piece Deep Sea Arcade and rockers The Medics.
Due to take place at Brisbane’s Powerhouse this November, Rock For The Reef hopes to raise awareness and funds that will go towards the conservation of Australia’s natural treasure, the Great Barrier Reef.
Also playing the event is Brisbane hip-hop legends the Resin Dogs, Peter O’Doherty and Reg Mombassa’s Dog Trumpet, New South Wales singer-songwriter Steve Smyth, Canberra’s Fox and Fowl, electro-swingers Formidable Vegetable Sound System and more.
All proceeds from this event are going to campaigns to protect the Reef and donations can be made when booking tickets. Rock for the Reef is presented by Green Music Australia, the Australian Marine Conservation Society and the Australian Youth Climate Coalition. It’s anti-fracking sister event, Sydney’s Rock The Gate, was announced earlier today.
