Melbourne comedy boys Aunty Donna are moving into the world of music with a full-length studio album, and we just got our first sweet, sweet taste.
The album — titled The Album, because why not? — will officially drop in April, but each Friday until then the group will be supplying laughs with a new music video.
The first one is for ‘Chuffed (Dad Song)’, and if it’s any indication of what we’re in for, prepare yourselves from everything to punk to dad trap.
Aunty Donna have lined up a pretty stellar guest list for the album too, nabbing the musically talented Montaigne and Boilermakers (Matt Okine) alongside the, um, not so musically talented Hamish Blake.
The group seem to be happy they’ve finished the album, but their dogs aren’t so happy, according to a statement.
“When we started making this album we had no idea that we’d lose all our dogs,” say the boys.
“They all ran away and we are very upset. Mine ran away after I played a song from the album, but Broden just left the gate open one night. His dog never got the chance to hear any of the album.”
