Over 450 guitarists have attempted to set a new world record in Sydney, rocking out to a classic AC/DC track in order to beat the record for the most people playing the same song at the same time on electric guitars.
Taking place in Chatswood on Sunday afternoon as part of the Sydney Guitar Festival, the record attempt saw 457 guitar fanatics perform Acca Dacca’s ‘Highway To Hell’ in unison.
Organisers believe they have broken the previous record — 368 people, set in India in 2013 — but official verification from the Guinness World Records team is expected to take up to six weeks.

The performance — led by Australian band The Choirboys — was powered by mini batter-powered amplifiers on each performer.
“They were tiny amps but they got the sound happening,” festival spokeswoman Tatiana Marchant told AAP. “It was such a great atmosphere.”
Money raised through registrations for the record attempt will be going to the Australian Children’s Music Foundation.
The record attempt comes after Aussie guitarist Scott Burford played guitar for a whopping 125 hours last month, in a world record attempt of his own.
The Sydney Guitar Festival continues until 19th August.
