It’s that time of year again when the life-changing #MMAD4U Day campaign is popping back up to help make a difference in the lives of at-risk young people.
This year, Aussie & international artists including Niall Horan, Dean Lewis, Billie Eilish, Bishop Briggs, Vera Blue & more are throwing their weight behind the initiative, which aims to empower kids through music with a message of self-worth.
Now in its third year, the campaign is encouraging Aussies to share the love on #MMAD4U Day (that’s this Friday, 1st December) by taking a selfie while holding a “#MMAD4U” sign, uploading it to social media and tagging someone they believe in.
A huge number of big-name artists including Troye Sivan, Shawn Mendes, Ronan Keating & more got involved last year & helped propel the campaign to become the #1 trending topic on Twitter.
10 young Aussies are also proving how much of an impact the whole thing has had IRL.
This year’s campaign, which got its name from the masterminds at grassroots youth mentoring charity Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD), is soundtracked by a new original tune called ‘Headstrong’, which was written by 10 kids who’ve turned their lives around through music and the charity’s positive guidance, in a bid to inspire others like them to never give up hope.
You can give it a listen here, with all proceeds being donated back to MMAD, which uses music to help 20,000 at-risk and traumatised young people each year.
