Aussie Musician Continues Tour After Being Stabbed By A Stingray

One half of Melbourne duo The Way North has been stabbed by a stingray while touring in WA.

Leisha Jungalwalla was stabbed above both ankles by a stringray just six dates into a mammoth 21 date tour.

Jungalwalla was at Cervantes beach looking at dolphins. She put her feet into a rockpool where she was stabbed. Luckily she was able to hobble to a local Lobster Factory where an ambulance was called.

This is the accident-prone musicians fourth trip in an ambulance but she’s managed to make light of the situation.

“Whilst it hurt like hell, I’ve now been nicknamed Stingray which will get a lot of mileage if I ever decide to join a bikie club or a metal rock band,” she said.

The show will go on with Jungalwalla making a full recovery. They are set to resume the tour in support of their Vol. 2 EP early next month.
