These Aussie Musos Are Among The Most Blogged-About Acts Of 2015

With 2015 winding down, the music blogosphere has taken a look back at the year that was, and has named Australian acts Tame Impala, Chet Faker and Courtney Barnett some of the most blogged-about artists of the last 12 months.

Music blog aggregator Hype Machine has unveiled its 2015 Zeitgeist lists, which includes the blogosphere’s 50 most talked about musos of 2015.

Out of all the acts on the list, Kevin Parker and his Tame Impala bandmates are the most-blogged of the Aussie bunch, thanks in part to their stellar 2015 album Currents. The band have come in as the fourth most blogged-about act, behind Toro Y Moi, Oh Wonder and list-topper Unknown Mortal Orchestra.

The next Aussie in the list, Chet Faker, comes in at number 25, beating out the likes of Jack Garratt, José González and Action Bronson, while Courtney Barnett sits at number 42 after releasing her debut album Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit earlier this year.

Last year, only two Aussies made it onto Hype Machine‘s most-blogged list — Chet Faker (who came in at number 14) and Flight Facilities (who scraped in at number 49). Catch this year’s top 20, below.

Both Tame Impala and Courtney Barnett were also recently named on the list of triple j‘s most-played artists of 2015, because of course they were.
