Australia’s Answer To SXSW Is Coming To Western Sydney Next Year

SOUND WEST is a brand spankin’ new music and tech festival coming to Parramatta next year.

Set to run over a massive five days from Wednesday, 30th April to Sunday, 3rd April, live music will be present across the whole five days across a range of venues in Parramatta and Greater Western Sydney, while over two days, a conference will be held at CommBank Stadium.

“The City of Parramatta is proud to be a major partner and the host city of the inaugural SOUND WEST Technology & Music Festival,” said City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Issa.

“As a Smart City at the forefront of innovation and with an eclectic mix of cultures, a vibrant food and arts scene, and world-class hotels and venues in the centre of global Sydney, Parramatta is the perfect home for this cutting-edge event.

He continued: “The City of Parramatta has been hard hit by the pandemic and this festival will contribute to our revitalisation plan for our local and night-time economies by attracting thousands of professionals, visitors and artists from around Australia and the world.”

The festival will bring together some of the world’s biggest brands in music and tech, including NEC Australia, The Edge (ARN), TikTok, Shopify, Warner Music, Universal Music Australia, Live Nation, and more.

The festival’s first lineup of speakers and performers was announced today, with Dylan Alcott, L-FRESH THE LION, Khaled Rohaim, and Serwah Attafuh leading the charge for the inaugural festival. More are due to be announced in the new year.
