Avenged Sevenfold are talking to concert promoters about a possible Australian tour, according to former Soundwave Festival promoter AJ Maddah.
Maddah, who previously brought Avenged Sevenfold to Australia for Soundwave in 2014, has taken to Twitter to say the band have been “talking to [Australian] promoters”, and “want” to organise a new Australian tour in support of their latest album The Stage.
Maddah says that while it’s “costly/difficult” for the band to tour Australia regularly, he thinks we’ll see the band head down under on their current touring cycle — and he’s hoping it might even be to support Metallica on what’s expected to be a 2018 Australian tour from the heavy metal legends.
Here’s what he’s said:
Last year, Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates told Music Feeds that the band hoped to return down under “very, very soon”, and Maddah’s recent claim suggests something could actually be on the cards for 2018.
Metallica, meanwhile, were originally posited for a 2017 Australian tour by Maddah, who says he now believes the band will tour down under next year.
Stay tuned to Music Feeds for all the latest on both bands’ Australian touring schedules.
