One of the most in-demand DJs planet earth has to offer, Avicii, has announced that he will be bringing his internationally acclaimed True Tour show Down Under in 2014. Continuing his mission to make every other 23-year-old feel ridiculously underaccomplished, the record-breaking Swedish producer will be rocking up to our shores in January next year.
Australian audiences are aware of the scale of an Avicii live performance, having experienced it first-hand at both Future Music and Good Life festivals past. However, with his name appearing alone in lights this time around, we can be sure this will be a show of epic proportions.
Rising to fame off the back of well-represented track Levels, Avicii has gone on to prove he is much more than a one-hit wonder. His latest cut Hey Brother is at radio now and has proven to be a worthy successor. The track is the latest in a string of high-charting hits boosted from his coveted debut album True.
For 3 glorious hours, Avicii will be unleashing his full live set up in and around your earholes, offering 3D mapping, LED and amazing projections to ensure all your other senses are in a state of bliss as well.
General public tickets go on sale from 12 noon local time next Friday, 8th November with exclusive presale access from 12 noon 30th October via the links below.
UPDATE: Avicii has announced his supports for his upcoming Australian tour as Will Sparks for Sydney and Perth, Joel Fletcher for Brisbane and Melbourne, New World Sound for the entirety of the tour, and Throttle for shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
Will Sparks is the young-gun creator of Melbourne Bounce and has spent the last year as a swiftly rising star on the Australian EDM scene, while fellow Melburnian Joel Fletcher has been behind the decks since he was 14-years-old, with his remixes to be found all over the Beatport charts.
Brothers Tyrone and Jesse Taylor are New World Sound, who at 19 and 21-years-old respectively, have come to dominate dance floors country-wide and find fans in Tiësto and Ferry Corsten, while “dirty disco” maestro Throttle is known for his infectious, funky progressive electro style.
