Azealia Banks and Rihanna have traded blows on social media over US President Donald Trump‘s new executive order, which has banned citizens from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States.
It all began with a tweet from Rihanna, who came out against Trump’s order and called him “an immoral pig”:
Disgusted! The news is devastating! America is being ruined right before our eyes! What an immoral pig you have to be to implement such BS!!

Banks later began a lengthy rant, which criticised Rihanna’s views and questioned her immigration status.
“As far as Rihanna (who isn’t a citizen, and can’t vote) and all the rest of the celebrities who are using their influence to stir the public, you lot really REALLY need to shut up and sit down. Stop chastising the President. It’s stupid and pathetic to watch,” Banks told her followers.
“You don’t get to show up in another man’s country, kill his young, his wives, ruin his home and think a peace talk is going to be the end of it. IT’S NOT. There’s absolutely no way to end this war but to finish it ourselves.”
Rihanna later responded with a selfie on Instagram, captioned with, “The face you make when you a immigrant,” and referencing Banks’ alleged sacrificing of live chickens using the hashtags #stayawayfromthechickens, #iheartnuggets and #saveourhens.
Rihanna also posted an image of someone’s head being covered by an American flag, with the caption, “The face you make when you screaming in an empty room.”
In response, Banks said:
“What Rihanna meant was …. ‘I GREW UP PLAYING SOCCER IN A DIRT YARD WITH A COCONUT AND OPEN MY LEGS FOR ANY AND EVERY MOTHERFUCKER WHO I THINK I CAN GET TO WRITE ME SONGS OR BUY ME DRUGS. I CAN BARELY PERFORM BECAUSE I LINE MY BROWN BLUNTS WITH CRYSTAL METH AND AM OFTEN VERY WINDED ON STAGE.’
“Don’t get all wound up over that Rihanna shit, she doesn’t read books or write songs, she doesn’t have the brains to go toe to toe with me or engage in a full fledged discussion about anything …..with anyone.”
Later, seemingly directing her words at Rihanna, Banks said, “You’re clearly listening and responding to each and every post. These pop stars love me.”
Banks also posted two videos in which she talks about Rihanna, which can be viewed alongside the pair’s social media posts, below.
