The 2017 Music Victoria Awards have been dominated by rap duo A.B. Original and relentless psych-rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
Taking place at Melbourne’s 170 Russell last night, the awards saw Victoria’s best acts, releases, venues and festivals take out awards, with A.B. Original snagging Best Album, Best Hip Hop Album and Best Aboriginal Act.
King Gizzard, meanwhile, took home Best Band, Best Song and Best Live Act, and The Teskey Brothers claimed two awards for Best Emerging Act and Best Soul, Funk, RnB And Gospel Album.
This year’s publicly-voted awards came from a pool of over 73,000 tallied votes. Late music producer Tony Cohen was also inducted into The Age Music Victoria Hall Of Fame.
