Baker Boy hasn’t slowed down since his 2017 mainstream debut, and now he’s teaming up with buzzing NZ rapper JessB for new song ‘Meditjin’.
Meaning ‘medicine’ in Danzal Baker’s native language Yolngu Matha, Baker Boy says that the song was written with the positivity and freedom in his mind that exudes from other tracks of his, such as the Yirrmal-featuring ‘Marryuna’.
“Music is the best meditjin (medicine),” he said in a statement.
“It brings everyone together, makes you want to dance, love, laugh, vibe and feel and I wrote Meditjin with just that in mind. It’s about making people feel the music and expressing themselves.”
Baker Boy is about to attend the ARIA Awards, where he’s nominated for three trophies – Best Hip Hop Release, Best Australian Live Act and Best Video.
