Brissie indie rock faves Ball Park Music have let it slip that they’ll be playing a “secret” gig in their hometown of Meanjin/ Brisbane tomorrow night. The show’s confirmation comes after a teaser post by singer-songwriter Asha Jeffries set Ball Park Music super-fans into sleuth mode.
The show is all set to take place at Fortitude Valley venue The Zoo and is presented by the band’s own label, Prawn Records. The show was previously announced as being headlined by an unknown band called The Pizzas, who were described as “Brisbane’s most elusive and cheesiest band.” Ball Park Music followed these teases by confirming the news on social media.
Ball Park Music released their seventh album, Weirder & Weirder, last Friday, 27th May. The band will officially kick off a national tour at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Friday, 3rd June. King Stingray and Teenage Joans are splitting main support duties for the tour, with RAT!hammock opening at all shows.
“We are so excited to have King Stingray, Teenage Joans and Rat!Hammock joining us on this tour,” the band said in a statement. “We’ve been admiring their music from afar for a while now, we can’t wait to share a stage with them on what’s going to be one hell of a tour.”
