English rockers Band of Skulls are all set to tour our shores once again, following the release of their latest album By Default.
The band, being no strangers to globe trotting and heavy touring, will be playing a bunch of headlining shows across the country this November, as well as playing a headlining slot at Perth festival Disconnect in December.
By Default was written in the band’s home of Southhampton, and recorded in a local baptist Southhampton church. The record was produced by Gil Norton, responsible for work by the likes of Pixies, Foo Fighters and Patti Smith.
“We went back to Square One,” says drummer, Matt Hayward. “In the church – between visits from the vicar, bringing tea and biscuits on his trolley – they found the new songs in hours of woodshedding on ratty old practice amps.”
Music Feeds interviewed Band of Skulls earlier this year to discuss the writing of their new album, how recording in a church went down and what it’s like to live a good chunk of your life on the road. Read the chat in full here, and the band’s upcoming Aussie tour dates, below.
