It seems that Jay-Z has given us all a lesson in poetic licence now that, Barack Obama, when interview on America’s Today Show, has openly denied ever giving the rapper and demi-god wife, Beyoncé Knowles, permission for their contentious Cuban holiday.
Despite evidence that the myth had already been debunked when a statement given by White House press secretary, Jay Carney, refuted the claims, Today Show host, Savannah Guthrie, proceeded with the line of questioning, which prompted Barack Obama to cull all speculation and state, “This is not something the White House was involved with. We’ve got better things to do.”
The claims that Jay-Z and Beyoncé were granted executive permission from the commander-in-chief were originally proliferated by a verse in the rapper’s track, Open Letter, which was released in response to the negative reaction the couple received from their recent Cuban vacation.
At least we can rest assured, Barack Obama ‘has better things to do’.
