Barack Obama, Wilco and The Roots All Cover Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’

It seems like every dude and his dog has covered Daft Punk‘s smash hit Get Lucky, so it should come as no surprise that alt country rockers Wilco, hip hop act The Roots and even the President of the United States have gotten on board – well, sort of.

Wilco decided to Get Lucky at their all-requests show at the Solid Sound Festival in Massachusetts last Friday, with Jeff Tweedy and friends performing their own version of the Random Access Memories track as well as 26 other covers, including Thin Lizzy‘s The Boys Are Back In Town and Blue Öyster Cult‘s Don’t Fear The Reaper.

The Roots, however, performed their comedy version on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, covering the hit as Black Simon and Garfunkel and managing to somehow blend French electro disco with the duo’s 1968 track The Boxer. Captain Kirk Douglas and Questlove have previously parodied Taylor Swift‘s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and Mariah Carey‘s All I Want For Christmas Is You Simon and Garfunkel-style for the show.

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama might not have actually got his Daft Punk on but this clip is probably as close as you’ll ever get to seeing the leader of the western world performing an ode to being up all night to get some.
