Bare Bones To Open The Soundwave Sydney Main Stage

The lineup for the Sydney leg of Soundwave 2015 has just been beefed up by one. Local punks Bare Bones have been added to the mouth-wateringly gargantuan bill, after being named the NSW winners of triple j’s Unearthed Soundwave competition.

They join fellow recently-announced victors I, Valiance from Melbourne, and Adelaide reps A Ghost Orchestra, who have each scored a dream slot performing on Soundwave’s main stage, which will be trodden on by feet belonging to such rock and metal heavyweights as Slipknot, Faith No More and Soundgarden.

Bare Bones took to Facebook to express their excitement at this afternoon’s announcement. “It is an honour to be opening up main stage at 12:20pm,” they said. “Yes, your boys will be sharing the same stage as Slipknot. We would love to give a huge thanks to Unearthed, The Racket and SFL for this insane opportunity, bunch of true champs! Cya there Sydney!”

The city slickin’ 5 piece’s performance at Sydney Soundwave comes hot on the heels of their latest music video release, Pipeline Fever, which you can check out below.

The lucky last winner of the Unearthed Soundwave comp, who will be performing at the Brisbane event, will be announced via triple j’s ShortFastLoud program, tonight (which means it’s probably not a metal band).
