Barry Gibb, the last remaining member of the Bee Gees, will pay tribute to his late brothers on a solo tour of Australia in February next year.
Gibb’s Mythology tour will start in Sydney on February 8, before heading to arenas in Melbourne and Brisbane.
The tour will see Gibb showcase the work that made him and his two late brothers – Robin, who died earlier this year, and Maurice, who died in 2003 – household names.
Born in Britain, the Gibb brothers moved to Australia with their parents in the 1950s. They lived in Redcliffe, Queensland, where they formed the Bee Gees in 1958.
They went on to win nine Grammy awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
Gibb told the Sydney Morning Herald that his return to Australia would be sentimental.
“As the place where we started so many years ago, we have always viewed Australia as our home – so it is only fitting that we will be kicking off our Mythology tour there,” he said in a statement.
Tickets for the tour go on sale from October 5. Members of promoter Live Nation can get pre-sale tickets from September 28.
