It seems Adele is so popular these days that even the local wildlife want to gatecrash her concerts.
Mid-way through the first Mexico City show on her massive Adele Live 2016 tour this week, the British singer stopped to let an audience member know a wayward bat had landed right by his head.
“There’s a bat… it landed right by your head,” Adele shrieks in video of the moment (below), clearly trying to suppress her laughter.
“Welcome to Mexico! It’s true, I’m happy to be here, but a f*cking bat? Jesus Christ!” she added.
According to Metro‘s account of the incident, it’s not the first time Adele has unexpectedly encountered one of the small furry mammals.
“One time a bat got into my house. It was very scary,” she reportedly told the audience. “I was on my own. It very, very, scary. I had to deal with it. I had to put all the lights off and put a torch right by a window. It’s a long story, I’ll tell you another time.”
So we’re glad to report Adele responds more like you or I to bat encounters, and less like Ozzy Osbourne.
The bat incident marks the 106th show of Adele’s seemingly never-ending tour, which will actually end in Australia early next year. The singer announced her first-ever Aussie tour dates this week, but there’s no word yet on what wildlife will be in attendance.
