After finishing up the recording of their 29th studio album in Los Angeles earlier this year, the legendary (remaining) original lineup of Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, David Marks and Brian Wilson (who hasn’t toured with the band in over two decades) hit the road to take on a ‘World Tour’ that looked set to include Australia along with Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong sometime in the near future.
Update: Beach Boys Australian Tour Confirmed For August
Now it appears we’re getting some strong indications that the tour will happen around August after the Singapore and Hong Kong shows were announced a couple of weeks back. Also, a recent article from Billboard, which goes into the band’s preparation for the tour, states that the shows will run through August. Looking at the world tour dates, this could put the shows sometime between August 7 and 16, with dates after August 25 being more unlikely, but not out of the question.
Their new record comprises all totally original songs. The album’s lead single That’s Why God Made The Radio (listen below) has already shown off the band’s undying talent for writing catchy hits. The new album will be released in Australia on June 6.
We should hopefully get an official tour announcement soon.
