Ben Folds is to release a three-CD career retrospective album later this year, called The Best Imitation of Myself: A Retrospective.
Folds, now 44, is set to release the new album in October according to Consequence of Sound. Each disc of the release is designed to have a different focus, with the first covering his time with Ben Folds Five up to his more recent collaboration with author Nick Hornby.
The second disc is a selection of Hornby’s live performances between 1997 and 2011. This includes a few collaborations (including one memorable one with Rufus Wainwright which you can see below). The third disc includes a bunch of rarities. The release will also feature extensive liner notes and a track-by-track commentary by Folds himself.
